Lower Breede River Watch Program
At a recent LBRC executive meeting it was decided to try to get the public, especially the members of the LBRC, more involved in assisting the ranger corps in their duties during the coming holiday season.
Thus enters the LBRC “Watch Program”. The program is structured so as to allow the member to go on patrol with a ranger on duty or to be an observer at specific areas where transgressions may occur and if need be to call the ranger on duty regarding any suspect activity. Added to this there is an element of education to allow the member to interact with the public in a positive way.
What is required to become part of the program? First and foremost the individual must be prepared to give up a few hours of their holidays and be sincere in wanting to assist with the compliance of the laws which govern us in this area, which includes leading by example. Applicants must also be articulate and well mannered as this posting does not carry any law enforcement powers.
